CCM has crossed the innovation and technology from their Super Tacks player skate into the new CCM Super Tacks AS1 Pro Senior Goalie Skates. Building off of the already successful design, the Super Tacks AS1 skate has a new one-piece boot specifically cut for a goaltenders performance.
Starting with the outer quarter package, the boot is made of a one-piece frame with a stiffer lower portion and a strategic flexible upper half, specifically made with CCM's premium carbon composite material. The core is a super lightweight thermo-formable shape which allows the goaltender to not only bake their skates to fit, but with premium materials to give the goalie the best fit. Generally, AS1 skates will have an anatomical fit which increase the amount of contact the boot has with the foot. This is paramount to reduce energy transfer and provide a solid fit throughout. This anatomical fit is partnered with an asymmetrical collar and heel to allow the goalie a deeper flex in the stance and quick recoveries from the butterfly.
Moving to the tongue, CCM utilized the Tritech flex technology with molded lace-bite protection. This strategic design gives the goalie forward flex in their stance, but rigidity to fight energy loss. The inside of the boot features a TotalDri Pro liner which wicks moisture away from the skate to keep the foot dry and light. Filling out the inside of the skate, the AS1 has a D30 reinforced footbed for added comfort and support to the goalies arch.
The holder is specifically made for the anatomical fit of the AS1 skate. This features a lower rim across the inside and outside edge of the foot which helps give the goalie a great attack angle for all pushes and recoveries. However, the toe and heel still have a traditional shape to them to add in protection and extra support across the boot. Finishing off the skate, the AS1 has a high performance Prolite G Black blade with an oxide treatment to provide longer edge life and a resistance to wear and corrosion.
